August 12, 2009

Hi Friends,

I just returned from a convention in Orlando where I had a great time meeting with long time, (make that very 'long time') friends. We had known each other for more than 50 years, and had actually met before any of us married. We now have children, grandchildren and even a few great grandchildren. We met at an Italian Restaurant and I thought "it just doesn't get any better than this. There was lots of reminiscing, a little heated political discussion - but more importantly, a lot of laughter.

There's somethng special about the people in your life who know your good points, your faults and failures.............yet you KNOW that you could count on them, no matter what.

The friendship we can have with Jesus even supersedes the type of friendship that I recently enjoyed. Jesus REALLY knows all of my faults, but His friendship remains firm. When I have a meal with Him, (yes, I sometimes have communion at home), I sense His encouragement, His love and commitment to me. It's really very hard to describe that divine connection, it MUST be experienced. In John the 15th chapter, Jesus refers to us as "friends". How special is that?

Speaking of friends, please know that I consider all of the HOMEKEEPERS VIEWERS to be cherished friends. I realize that we haven't known each other for 50 years, however our mutual friendship with Jesus creates an immediate bond........like nothing else.

Dear FRIEND, here's what's happening on HOMEKEEPERS next week.

Monday, August 17
Harry and Annie Thomassen are my guests and they have a "drama" ministry. I showed a brief clip of their portrayal of Abraham and Sarah. The video was not broadcast quality, but I aired it anyway - it was just sooooooooo funny.

Tuesday, August 18
Rebecca Totolio just blew me away with the research she had done about the Bride of Christ - both Old and New Testament. She will be back on HOMEKEEPERS - for sure.

Wednesday, August 19
Cheryl Touchton just convicts me whenever I'm around her. She is a dynamic witness for the Lord, and she demonstrates how very easy it is.

Thursday, August 20
Debra Flinn tells of the horrible child abuse she endured. Get ready to be very angry and then just melt because of the great forgiveness she experienced.

Friday, August 21
Nancy Morse is on my short, short list of women to be admired. She is a missionary with WYCLIFFE BIBLE TRANSLATORS and one of the most wonderful Christians you could ever encounter.

You're loved!
