August 12, 2009

Hi Friends,

I just returned from a convention in Orlando where I had a great time meeting with long time, (make that very 'long time') friends. We had known each other for more than 50 years, and had actually met before any of us married. We now have children, grandchildren and even a few great grandchildren. We met at an Italian Restaurant and I thought "it just doesn't get any better than this. There was lots of reminiscing, a little heated political discussion - but more importantly, a lot of laughter.

There's somethng special about the people in your life who know your good points, your faults and failures.............yet you KNOW that you could count on them, no matter what.

The friendship we can have with Jesus even supersedes the type of friendship that I recently enjoyed. Jesus REALLY knows all of my faults, but His friendship remains firm. When I have a meal with Him, (yes, I sometimes have communion at home), I sense His encouragement, His love and commitment to me. It's really very hard to describe that divine connection, it MUST be experienced. In John the 15th chapter, Jesus refers to us as "friends". How special is that?

Speaking of friends, please know that I consider all of the HOMEKEEPERS VIEWERS to be cherished friends. I realize that we haven't known each other for 50 years, however our mutual friendship with Jesus creates an immediate bond........like nothing else.

Dear FRIEND, here's what's happening on HOMEKEEPERS next week.

Monday, August 17
Harry and Annie Thomassen are my guests and they have a "drama" ministry. I showed a brief clip of their portrayal of Abraham and Sarah. The video was not broadcast quality, but I aired it anyway - it was just sooooooooo funny.

Tuesday, August 18
Rebecca Totolio just blew me away with the research she had done about the Bride of Christ - both Old and New Testament. She will be back on HOMEKEEPERS - for sure.

Wednesday, August 19
Cheryl Touchton just convicts me whenever I'm around her. She is a dynamic witness for the Lord, and she demonstrates how very easy it is.

Thursday, August 20
Debra Flinn tells of the horrible child abuse she endured. Get ready to be very angry and then just melt because of the great forgiveness she experienced.

Friday, August 21
Nancy Morse is on my short, short list of women to be admired. She is a missionary with WYCLIFFE BIBLE TRANSLATORS and one of the most wonderful Christians you could ever encounter.

You're loved!

Back Home

Hi Friends,

I just returned from an all too short vacation in California with my younger Sister, Sharon. Her much-loved husband died a couple of years ago and she is coming out of a very sorrowful time. The Scripture states that "weeping may endure for the night, but JOY comes in the morning". I saw a lot of joy in her - and that was good. We shared the kind of laughter that only "sisters" would understand. I also had a two hour "girl" lunch with long time friends....JUST NOTHING LIKE IT.

The high point was the privilege to attend church at Angeles Temple, founded by Aimee Simple McPherson. I've read everything about that lady that I can find. She was greatly used of God in her lifetime, and it was a thrill to see that legendary building packed to the walls.........filled with praises and new salvations. Jentzen Franklin spoke..............really - no words to describe it.

Because of my absence, HOMEKEEPERS will feature excellent guests worth repeating.

Monday, July 27: Justin Fennell
This full time comedian will bring a smile to your face, and I can vouch for his wonderful recipe.

Tuesday, July 28: Pastor Myra Leon
Myra, along with her husband, leads a fabulous ministry - especially for youth. You will be inspired.

Wednesday, July 29 : Ted and Sharon Broer
They're a dynamic duo and they can show you the way to better health. Their books and CDs offer life changing information. Thousands have been helped by their teaching on healthy living.

Thursday, July 30: Dr. Paul Williams
This amazing Medical Missionary has been involved in tragic disasters around the world. He will tell you exactly how to hope for the best, but PLAN FOR THE WORSE.

Friday, July 31: Patrick Tillman
I just love a great testimony and Patrick has one. Don't miss his story of God's deliverance and how he is now in the ministry helping those who have the same problem that he had. Isn't that just like the Lord?

Remember HOMEKEEPERS is aired Monday through Friday at 5:30 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. EST on the CHRISTIAN TELEVISION NETWORK, DIRECT TV, and the DISH NETWORK.

We love to hear from you - YOU ARE LOVED.

HOMEKEEPERS - July 13 - 17, 2009

Monday and Tuesday, July 13 & 14

If you're interested in learning, or increasing the learning skills of your children, don't miss HOMEKEEPERS on these dates. My guest is Donna O. Johnson. This lady has devised a method for learning that guarantees a 4.0 grade average. Meeting her was one of the high lights of my interviewing career.

Wednesday, July 15

Dee Brestin is a nationally known speaker and writer who has a heart for women and the challenges we face. You'll love her.

Thursday, July 16 and 17

Phyllis Benigas is on my short list of women to admire. I've known her for about 3 decades and she is an absolutely consistent Christian and has had a great ministry with her husband Tom as they've ministered to thousands of teenagers in Central Florida. After you hear her, you'll want to order her new book, INTIMATE MOMENTS WITH THE SHEPHERD.

Don't forget - the program airs 5:30 A. M. and 1:00 P.M. EST - Monday - Friday

THANK GOD FOR AMERICA

Hi Friends - Don't tell anyone - but I'm working in my office for a couple of hours..........yes, on Sunday. You could call it one of those "getting the ox out of the ditch" moments. I can accomplish much and think more clearly when no one is around.

I hope your "fourth" was an enjoyable one. My daughter's Mother-in-law has an apartment on the 14th floor of a building over looking the St. Pete Harbor, which owns a view that would cost a great deal if tickets were sold. We watched the spectacle of hundreds of boats and majical fireworks hurling toward our window.

My daughter-in-law, Terri, is the world's best at documenting family events and manages to get photos on the internet within minutes. True to form, yesterday evening I received photos of my precious great grandchildren (4 of them) in the neighborhood parade. Patriotism permeated the pictures. . .. . . wouldn't it be great if every neighborhood in America had it's own parade? I hope to watch those "greats" parade by next year. They live in Montgomery, Alabama.

HERE'S THE LINEUP FOR HOMEKEEPERS THIS WEEK: Remember the program airs at 5:30 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. EST, Monday through Friday.

Monday, July 6
This program is dedicated to the wonderful people who make HOMEKEEPERS happen. You'll see pictures of the camera people, the technicians - all of us who are 'WORKERS TOGETHER WITH CHRIST JESUS"........that includes you as you pray for us and financially support the ministry.

Tuesday, July 7th
My guest Tracey Dannemiller was a guest on the program about 10 years ago when she had recently been diagnosed with HIV and learned the horrible news that it had been passed on to her daughter. This program, ten years later tells a story of triumph over tragedy.

Wednesday, July 8th
Tim Dannemiller joins his wife Tracey on this program. Tim was introduced to drugs when he was 8 (yes that's 8) years of age. A battle ensued for decades. They describe the torment and the toll taken on the marriage, but just stay tuned for "THE REST OF THE STORY".

Thursday, July 9th, and Friday, July 10th
Both of these programs feature Carolyn Goad Pankella. Her story of loss and incredible sorrow illustrate the power and truth that Jesus has come to heal the brokenhearted.

Please pray for these programs. I always ask the Lord that the guest and I will say exactly what HE wants us to say and that we'll have brand new viewers for each and every airing. Will you join me in that prayer? Thanks so much.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Isn't it wonderful to live in a country that designates a day to acknowledge fatherhood? I do hope that families across America are using this day to "spoil" their Daddies.

Besides the typical gifts and special dinners that are planned, it is a perfect time to reflect on the fact that the lack of fathers involvement in the lives of their children in our nation, and indeed world wide, is a serious problem.

That is only one of the myriad issues we spotlight on HOMEKEEPERS. Thanks for your involvment in this ministry. We need your prayers and financial help more than ever.

Thanks to many who have asked about my Mom. She turned 100 years old on May 17th and is in a Nursing Home in St. Petersburg. I go almost every evening to feed her because she really can't see the food on her plate, I then take her outside for a wheelchair spin in the fresh air. She doesn't know me, and thinks I'm an employee. Thanks for your prayers for her.

HERE'S THE HOMKEEPERS LINEUP FOR THIS WEEK:

Monday - June 22nd:
SHERRY WHITE is an amazing lady with an amazing ministry. Please don't miss how the Lord is using her to rescue women from the very worst of the worse situations.........and how she is reaching out to their children as well.

Tuesday - June 23rd:
CLAIRE ABRAMS and BECKY TAYLOR are a couple of the ladies that SHERRY WHITE has rescued. They have been at the very bottom with substance abuse problems, attempted suicides and the loss of their children..............but don't forget, JESUS HAS COME TO MAKE ALL THINGS NEW.

Wednesday, - June 24th:
Wanda and I laughed out loud reading portions of DEBORA COTY'S book titled MOM'S NEED CHOCOLATE. How very refreshing - in the midst of some rather sad stories - to interview such a funny lady.

Thursday, - June 25th
LORI EVANS - (perhaps you've seen her on CHRISTIAN FITNESS) tells about the wonderful, healing power of the Lord Jesus in her life.

Friday, June 26th
The first time I interviewed REBECCA PORTER, I was brought to tears when she told how she had an abortion which turned out to involve twins. . . . . however, our all powerful God uses all of this brokeness to create a "vessel of honor" for His use...........that's Rebecca, a true "vessel of honor". She is a might force in the PRO LIFE MOVEMENT.

Please know that you are loved,

Burdens and Blessings

Hi Friends,

To say that these past few days have been have been "trying" might just be the understatement of the year.

My sister and her husband arrived on Sunday, in order to have a surgical procedure by the famous Dr. James Gills. On that same night, I received a call that my Mother, now living in an Assisted Living Facility, had fallen and they sent her to St. Anthony's Hospital. Mother's sight and hearing are almost gone, her memory functions at about 10%, and she is frequently in great pain. The hours spent in the emergency room were wild.

From that time, it was determined that she would have to be in a Nursing Home - something I have asked the Lord many times to avoid. Amazing isn't it, how we count "prayers answered" only when they're answered according to "our will"? It is very hard to describe the pain of placing her there to anyone who has not experienced it.

I drop by each evening to "feed" her - Her vision and trembling hands prevent her from doing it for herself. I will be leaving shortly for what has now become a part of my routine.

HOWEVER, as I write this on her 100th BIRTHDAY, the Lord blessed me with another great grandchild.........Elizabeth Anne Ryles. HOW SPECIAL, HOW HISTORIC. God blesses our family with great joy right in the middle of heavy heartache. WHAT A GREAT GOD TO KNOW, LOVE, AND SERVE.

He loves you,

Arthelene

Great Guests this Week!!!

Hi Everyone,

I do want to say thanks to SHERRY WHITE MINISTRIES for the privilege of speaking for her Ladies Retreat last week. What a powerful evening it was. She and some of the girls that her ministry has rescued will be on a future HOMEKEEPERS program - so keep watching.

April 27th,
Ann Brooks tells how the government took her daughter from her and her husband and eventually killed her. Yes, this is in America. It is a riviting story that will make you cry, get angry and then marvel at the grace of God in Ann's life.

April 28th,
One of my favorite Missionaries, Nancy Morse returns to HOMEKEEPERS. I love bringing these amazing people to our viewers. It shows just how the Body of Christ is growing world wide.

April 29th,
What a total joy to meet Suzette Caldwell. She and her husband are pastors of a large Methodist Church in Houston, Texas which is home to 15,000 members. Suzette wrote a book on prayer which would benefit any believer.

April 30th and May 1st
These programs have been aired before and the response has been astounding. My guests are Phil and Cynthia Phillips. They have written a book about diagnosing Phil's ADD as an adult. It is obvious that these programs struck a chord.

God Bless you - love hearing from you.

We have a varied list of topics for you this week on HOMEKEEPERS. . . . ENJOY!!!!

Monday, April 20th:

Alisa Brown and Melanie Dorsey talk about their brand new ministry to women and introduce some ways to bring beauty to meal time. They believe that their families are "worth it". I agree!!!!

Tuesday, April 21st:

What a current subject this program brings to the table. Ward and Ann Ellis tell how they brought Ward's mother, "Miss Pat" into their home and cared for her for five years until she passed on to heaven a few weeks ago. Many famililes are facing the tough choices that must be made as people are living longer. I promise, Ward and Ann will inspsire you.

Wednesday, April 22nd:

Don't you just love Missionaries? I hope so, I think they're a very special breed. Margaret Register, a long time friend, has just completed a book outlining her experiences in Mexico and Paraguay titled NO PLACE FOR PLASTIC SAINTS. She was a total delight and fixed some Paraguayan Cornbread - NOTHING LIKE IT!!!!!

Thursday, April 23rd:

This program is a repeat with LuAnn Burger, wife of the late pianist, Anthony Burger. I had the privilege of interviewing him before he went to heaven. As a musician myself, I still sense the loss. I do not want people to forget him, or his God gifted music.

Friday, April 24th:

Dr. Katie Brazelton served as the Director of Women's Bible Studies at SADDLEBACK CHURCH in Southern California and has written the best seller - PATHWAY TO PURPOSE. She was a total delight............I'm sure you will agree.

You are Loved,

Arthelene

Back to HOMEKEEPERS

The Telethon is over. They can be so grueling, so it is a pleasure to get back to the regular grind. As I type this message to you, it's Sunday afternoon. I've grabbed a couple of extra hours to catch up and get ready to tape more HOMEKEEPERS programs later this week. So much can be accomplished when no one else is around and the telephone is unusually quiet.

Here's a rundown of what you can expect this week!

Monday, March 30th
If you haven't seen her before, you will love DAWN HALL as she demonstrates her 30 MINUTE MENU COOKBOOK. This book really is a wonder with nutritional information and a shopping list accompanying each menu.

Tuesday, March 31st
This program highlights a brief interview I had with that much loved gospel singer, Janet Paschal. She and my daughter battled cancer at about the same time, and we had e-mailed information back and forth. How wonderful to see her in glowing health.

Wednesday, April 1st (already?)
Jan McCray tells me about her love for Africa on this program. Want to meet a true servant of the Lord? Meet Jan McCray.

Thursday, April 2nd
Angela Stutz - one of the best guests ever, talks about her ministry I CARE. She opened my eyes to the danger of the "wireless" technology that very young children carry around - namely cell phones. Parents you should get a handle on this one.

Friday, April 3rd
I remember the first time I saw David Ring speak at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia. I found him just as charming in person - what a privilege to meet him. Don't miss this one.

GOD BLESS YOU!
Arthelene

Thursday, March 19, 2009

Things are beginning to hum around the station as we prepare for our Spring Telethon. Broken items are being repaired and flowers are being planted. You know how it is when company is coming.

Because of the telethon, HOMEKEEPERS will not air at our 1:00 P.M. time slot March 24th through 27th. Here's the lineup for this special week:

Monday, March 23rd (this is the only day the program will be aired at 5:30 A.M. and 1:00 P.M.)
Paul Smith gives his amazing story of overcoming colon cancer after two doctors told him that he would definitely have to wear a colostomy the rest of his life.

Tuesday and Wednesday, March 24th ant 25th.
Author Dawn Stefanowicz tells about her life being raised by a homosexual father. She deals with the pain and confusion growing up and the ultimate healing she has experienced through Jesus Christ.

Thursday, March 26th
Gayle Sierens has been the #1 female news anchor in the Tampa Bay area for more than 30 years. What a privilege to meet and interview her. I call her the "gold standard" for television reporting. She told how she and her colleagues gathered daily for prayer for a co-worker suffering with cancer.

Friday, March 27th
My guest, Delatorr0 McNeal, author of CAUGHT BETWEEN A DREAM AND A JOB, gives a shot of energy just to be around him. Don't miss this program.

Sunday, March 8, 2009

Hi Friends,

I hope your day is going well - thanks for your interest in HOMEKEEPERS. Here's the lineup for March 9 - 13. I'm going to include the program number - just in case you want to find out more about my guest.

Monday - March 9th - HK2274
Cheryl Touchton returns to HOMEKEEPERS. What a smart lady, her education and credentials are extensive - yet her number one priority is "Soul Winning". She tell us how easy it really is - on this program she talks about Biblical answers to today's economy.

Tuesday - March 10th - HK2275
Pastor David Komolafe introduced his book - 356 DAYS OF FEAR NOT. Rather a good topic for our present state.........wouldn't you say?

Wednesday, March 11th - HK2276
Author Heather Nations talked about her book titled JUST ENOUGH GRACE. Isn't that a great title - it sort of sums up my life. She tells about her battle with a very rare form of cancer.

Thursday - March 12th - HK2277
I've been interviewing Tom Woodward on various programs for many, many years. He has a fast - growing, world wide ministry to prove INTELLIGENT DESIGN. On this program we introduce his wife, Normandy, who teaches children about Creationism. Guess what - the Bible continues to be proven true. Darwinists are now posed a lot of questions they cannot answer.

Friday - March 13th - HK2278
Cathy Peterson, wife of Pastor Joe Peterson , CHRIST CHURCH in Palm Harbor Florida, was my special guest. She has written a couple of books of poetry, but we discussed her book titled, DIARY OF A JEWISH GIRL. It is an interesting take on Mary the mother of Jesus . . . had she kept a diary.

Monday, March 2, 2009

March is coming in like a lion in most parts of our Country. Fine with me, we get plenty of heat here in Florida. I'm enjoying wearing a heavy sweater today.

We've been busy taping HOMEKEEPERS programs, and I truly thank God for the wonderful guests He sends our way.

Monday, March 2nd: Lauren Myers returns to HOMEKEEPERS to talk about her new book, GOD SPEAKS MY LANGUAGE. In this book she has "fleshed out" some of our favorite as well as obscure Bible stories. This book is going great guns in India.

Tuesday, March 3rd: Linda Rooks is also a return guest and author of BROKEN HEART ON HOLD. It is a rather amazing story of how her marriage survived three years of separation. She and her husband now work to repair other marriaages.

Wednesday and Thursday, March 4th & 5th: These programs are re-runs with health expert,
Jordan Rubin featuring in-depth discussions, not about being skinny etc., rather finding your PERFECT WEIGHT, which is the title of his best selling book.

Friday, March 6th: This is also a re-run featuring Author Natalie Gillispie. She offers advice and possible short cuts in the adoption process.

Hi Everyone,

I am a very thankful lady - Wanda has been back in the office for three days now. She had a serious knee injury the middle of November. It has been a very long painful ordeal for her, but thank God, her progress is evident. I've told her that I will run all of the errands here in the office. . . . upstairs, downstairs, anywhere.

If you are a HOMEKEEPERS viewer, I want you to know that I pray for all of the viewers regularly. If you have a special request, just let me know, I promise to join you in prayer for whatever it might be.

Here is the HOMEKEEPERS lineup for this week.

Monday: February 16th

Phyllis Benigas - one of my favorite guests - talks about the 30 or so years that she and her husband, Tom, have worked with youth, and the major changes she has seen.

Tuesday: February 17th

Medical Missionary, Paul Willliams, MD. tells about his amazing experiences in devastated places around the world. He introduces his book born out of those experiences, titled WHEN ALL PLANS FAIL.

Wednesday: February 18th

Damien and Mirla Zinicola, Missionaries to Guatemala are my honored guests for this program. Can you tell that I am a missions-minded person? These wonderful people along with their beautiful children embody everything missionaries should be.

Thursday: February 19th

This program is quite practical for these times..........it's about money. Attorney Joseph Pippin and Credit Counselor Andrew Canole can give good advice for those deep in credit debt.

Friday: February 20th

Denise Dery, tells me about how Cell Quest has helped her in her battle with Fibromyalgia.

Remember, "nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, whis in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:39

Stay in touch!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

HOMEKEEPERS will celebrate VALENTINE'S DAY on February 11th, 12th and 13th. We will again feature Pastor Danny and Wendy Hodges and their amazing story of a restored marriage. Danny is the Pastor of Calvary Chapel in St. Petersburg. . . . check it out www.ccstpete.com

Since those interviews were taped, the Hodges have written a book which outlines their story and it's parallel to the story of Jacob, Leah, and Rachael in the Scripture.

I love the title of their book ...........LEARNING TO LOVE BY FAITH! It seems we try to exercise faith in a number of areas in our lives but when it comes to love, most of the time the feelings win out over faith.

It you would like to obtain a copy of this book, just call 1-800-229-0059, the cost is $20.00 and that includes the shipping and handling costs.

WANDA SHOULD BE BACK THIS WEEK.........HALLELUJAH!

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Hi Friends,

A belated HAPPY NEW YEAR to you!! My holidays were just some of the best so far - lots of family.............and food. Are you still working on those 10 pounds? We also celebrated a couple of birthdays in December, which added to the caloric intake.

Here's what's happening next week on HOMEKEEPERS. The Lord has graciously started this year for us with some exceptional guests.

Monday, January 19: Stacie Romanup will educate you on INTERNET PREDATORS. Don't miss this one.

Tuesday, 20th: Here's another "don't miss". Donna Kutinsky, a teacher with passion, gives ideas to help your children and grandchildren who struggle with reading.

Wednesday, 21st: After five years, Sue Becker makes a return visit to HOMEKEEPERS. She's a Super Mom who mills her own flour for baking and has HOMESCHOOLED 7 children. She's an expert on nutrition and will show you how to make healthy smoothies - we did have a slight accident - you'll just have to watch.

Thursday 22nd: This program is a re-run, and one of my all time favorites with Charlie Self, who is an expert - and I do mean expert - on the Middle East. Please know, what goes on in that part of the world can and will affect your family.

Friday, 23rd: This day will bring another re-run with Deborah Powe. She's another favorite. Don't miss her story because if you think there is no hope for your marriage, she believes that there is.

Wanda is still not back. She is in rehab for her knee operation. They have run into a few road blocks, but I believe a corner has been turned. She is working from her home via the computer, but I NEED HER HERE. Please pray for her.

You're loved!
